Coincidences?

ESSAY

Someone once told me, "When many people are thinking and feeling the same, it's inevitable that things happen." And of course, this makes a lot of sense to me, both from a metaphysical perspective and a scientific standpoint. So many people anticipating the end of the year, thinking about turning the page or excited to start a new chapter, inevitably translates into conversations, general mood, collective energy, ways of responding, etc. All of this combined is an ocean of actions and reactions.

A while ago, I decided that the end of one year and the beginning of another hold fundamental significance for me. Just as my mind needs sleep to start a new day, my soul requires a larger cycle to refresh itself, and above all, to be the center of attention for a few days, where I dedicate time to introspect and ask myself how I feel. This year, due to a change in destiny, was different. Clearly, local culture and customs have an influence. I decided to go with the flow a bit and try something different, a little less reflective. In the days leading up, I had noticed that 2024 has the peculiarity of starting on a Monday (an event that I find beautiful), automatically transporting me back to school days when the beginning of a class coincided with the pristine blank page of a hardcover notebook.

Personally, the beginnings of the year are never meaningless to me, but this one, in particular, serves as a trigger for many decisions I made before; this blog is one of them. The thing is: since I wasn't paying attention to the change of cycle, the universe decided to make itself present. So, at 12:05, a message on my phone awaited me to announce the end of a very important job contract, which I consider part of a previous stage of my profession. On January 1st, my girlfriend (who always has beautiful energy and, therefore, fun ideas) bought a box of fortune cookies (yes, a box). The message I got said, "Now is the time to move forward and pursue your passion."

We are complex and infinite beings, and sometimes, you have to close your eyes and sniff the wind to discover the path. Therefore, today I officially inaugurate this new stage called Hey Mauro Films. Welcome everybody!
